I’m Dr. Juan M. Benitez, and I’m running for reelection to LBUSD’s School Board in Area 3 so I can build on our success and keep our schools moving forward in these challenging times. I’m the proud parent of an LBUSD student, a professor and educator with over 25 years of experience at CSULB, and a product of public education from kindergarten through my doctorate from UCLA. I’ve worked hard to provide ALL students with the best education they deserve but our work isn’t done, and I’m committed to working together, with you, to continue making progress by:

Prioritizing EVERY student’s health and safety.

Standing up for our most vulnerable students; including our socio-economically disadvantaged students, students with disabilities, foster students, and emerging bilinguals.

Ensuring that ALL students have safe and positive learning environments and that schools receive the resources they need to create effective classrooms where ALL students have equitable opportunities to succeed and achieve their dreams.

Engaging with communities by bringing parents, students, educators, and community leaders together to create the highest-quality education system.
